Autauga Academy completed the 2015 season with a 7-5 record. With their 4-2 region record and a second place finish in Class AAA region one, the Generals earned a spot in the playoffs in 2015. Last year Autauga Academy reached the semi-finals before falling to a very good Bessemer Academy team by the score of 45-7. Since 2010, Autauga Academy has gone a combined 52-21. Their 71.0% winning percentage ranks 1st in Class AA over the past six seasons. Over the past 25 seasons, Autauga Academy has managed to compile a record of 185-104. Their 64.0% winning percentage ranks 2nd in Class AA and 5th in the AISA. The Generals have been successful on the football field with twenty-one winning seasons during this time. Their last losing season was 2009. Mike Sims leaves Autauga Academy for the head coaching position at Crenshaw Christian. His seven teams at Autauga Academy went 55-29 and 5-7 in the postseason. Kyle Glover returns to Autauga Academy after an absence of seventeen years. He got his start here in 1998 as the head fotoball coach and remained for a single season before moving on the Autaugaville for another year in 2000. Glover served as the head coach at Marbury from 2004-2009 with a 37-26 record. His overall record stands at 69-49 in eleven seasons as a head football coach. The Generals may find the schedule slightly easier this season with the move down in classification from Class AAA to AA. They will compete in region two this year. The Generals will be in the mix for one of the last two playoff spots in region two this season. They have qualified for the playoffs every year since 2002 and are hopeful to continue that streak in 2016. The Generals open the 2016 season on the road against non-region opponent Tuscaloosa Academy on Friday, August 26 at Knights Stadium. Last year the Tuscaloosa Academy Knights finished with an overall record of 7-4 and in third place in Class AAA region two. The Knights lost in the first round of the Class AAA playoffs to Autauga Academy by a score of 44-35. Autauga Academy and Tuscaloosa Academy have met a total of 7 times on the football field. The Generals have a 6-1-0 record against the Knights. They last met in 2015 with Autauga Academy winning by a score of 44-35.
